Melinda Lockhart – Director
Melinda is the founder and CEO of DecisionHub, a startup which supports business decisions through sensor data visualization initially in the transportation, agriculture, and city government industries. She is also a Managing Partner for SMARTnTX, providing smart technologies and smart city initiative consulting.
Melinda’s career stops included M2M software development, aero-engine telematics engineering, and infrastructure diagnostics. In addition, she designed the military-grade secured development platform for the U.S DOD/U.K. MOD Joint Strike Fighter program. She oversaw (but did not control!) a global technology provider’s R&D unit, monetized the company’s patent portfolio, revitalized global technology services products through rebranding, and successfully managed large global clients and business units across 160 countries.
Melinda is devoted to supporting women’s economic empowerment initiatives, serving as The Institute for the Economic Empowerment of Women (IEEW) Advisory Board Member and as a mentor in their Peace Through Business program. She focuses much of her support for STEAM initiatives as an Alliance of Technology and Women Board Member and Tech Titans Innovation Team Tri-Chair. She is a past Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) member.
Melinda was technology advisor to the European Union Commission on Cybercrime. She led the U.S. joint industry-government cyber-security task force under President Clinton. The resulting plan received presidential recognition and, post 9-11, was the new Department of Homeland Security’s initial plan.
Melinda has been featured in books such as Robert Tucker’s Driving Growth through Innovation, and in London Business School’s publication Business Strategy Review.
